Louisiana Greetings - Gifts Suppliers Directory

Inspired by the joie de vivre (joy of life) that is so much a part of life in Louisiana, our designs are a celebration of Louisianas unique culture. Anything is possible in this imaginary world where crawfish leisurely boil themselves in a cauldren of steamy water, swamp creatures pick up a fiddle and a bow to start their own Cajun band, and Santa Claus and his pirogue are pulled by alligators as they fly over the Louisiana swamps and bayous delivering Christmas presents. These colorful and whimsical illustrations capture the flavor of life in Louisiana. Our designs reflect Louisianas landscape, architecture, food, and music from the French Quarter of New Orleans through the swamps and bayous of Cajun Country and up the Mississippi River past the beautiful and historic plantations that line its banks. Its a family tradition. Louisiana Greetings was established in 1994, by Craig Routh and his wife Leslie. The business is definitely a family affair. All of the illustrations are created by award winning artists Craig and his father Stan Routh. Leslie manages the business, creates the recipes included on the Christmas cards, and also designs many of the invitations. In keeping with this family theme, mothers-in-law, sons, nephews, friends and neighbors also are hired to help out with packaging, shipping and many other tasks. About the Artists, Craig Routh began his professional career as an artist in 1977 at age 17 and has won numerous awards for his work. He grew up with a great appreciation for fine art, influenced by his father, Stan Routh, an architect/artist and his mother who is an interior designer. Craig has exhibited in many of the finest art events in the country including Walt Disneyworlds Festival of the Masters. His watercolors of people, animals, and landscapes are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and other countries. Stan Routh is an architect who loves to draw. He won 1st place in his first competition in 1973 for his pencil drawing of a Swiss Church. Since then he has won hundreds of awards, including Best of Show in five states. Disneyworld purchased his drawing Nets N Riggin for their corporate collection in 1978 and recognized him for Best Demonstration in the 1981Festival of the Masters. Stans drawings and paintings have been in over 500 juried art events and numerous one man shows. He has developed a collection of over 2500 landmark sketch prints of subjects all over Louisiana and surrounding states, which he calls, “Places People Remember”.
