In our search, we were blessed to find CancerGifts.com. It touched our hearts immediately. We cannot think of a better way to encourage the people in our lives most in need of comforting; cancer patients and their caregivers. It seems everyone is confronted with cancer in some way. From family to friends, neighbors and co-workers, we all have known someone affected by this disease. Medical science is making great strides in cures and treatments and one day we hope all cancer will be eliminated. But until then, we would like to provide as much comfort, encouragement and information as possible. Our family is no stranger to this disease. Several years ago I lost my mother to lung cancer and my sister, Lennie, recently succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a courageous fight. As a primary caregiver, I soon realized how important comfort is and saw first hand how much gifts of encouragement brightened her spirits. She is the reason I am doing this today. Davids father is a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with colon cancer, fought it, and won the battle! He has been cancer free for over 10 years and for that we are truly grateful.
